In 2009 we celebrated the centenary of our arrival in Rwanda in Save. Many of our earlier works, hospitals, schools and craft centers have been passed on to the local congregations. Today we have two communities: in Kigali and Butare.
In Kigali, we have a women's promotion center. Also, the sisters here provide various services to the sisters passing through Rwanda.
In Butare, a sister is responsible for the formation of postulants. There is also a sister who does "counseling" with traumatized people or those living with HIV/AIDS. Others are studying to prepare for a service in the Congregation. We have sisters from Rwanda sent to Tunisia, DR Congo and in Rwanda.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
Our symbol is the BIBLE: The Missionaries Sisters of Our Lady of Africa were the first women to bring the Good News to the Diocese of Butare. Today in our intercultural community, we try to give witness to the Good News by living this Word: "You are the light of the world."
