We arrived in Burkina Faso in 1912. We have two communities there, one in Ouagadougou near the Cathedral and the other in Bobo-Dioulasso.
In Ouagadougou, the community welcomes young women for their first phase of formation in our Congregation (the postulate). One sister accompanies them. We have a library which provides a place for young people to study and to do research. There we promote awareness of the importance of justice and peace in our world today. We want the library to be accessible for young people on the outskirts of Ouagadougou. One sister is particularly involved in the operation of the library. We are in charge of the administration of Delwende welcome center for women expelled from their families because they are accused or sometimes treated unfairly by the people of their villages.
The Novitiate community in Bobo Koko is composed of young women in formation (novices) as they prepare to join the MSOLA, the formators and other sisters in full apostolic activity.
The sisters are involved in diocesan and parish activities, and in first or on-going formation within our Congregation and with others. Activities include: Catechesis, advisor of women from a Small Christian Community, mentoring young students who are preparing for baptism and first communion; accompanying young people in their faith; working with the Sirafalao university chaplaincy team, missionary animation, courses and formation of our novices. We also have an apostolate among the other congregations for a first or on-going formation of their members according to requests.
We have sisters from Burkina Faso sent to Tunisia, Ghana, Burkina Faso and DR Congo ...
Our desires : May the Lord always give us vocations! Continue to be the voice of the "voiceless" for more justice and promotion of human dignity.
